History: “Crossways” is a heritage bungalow in upper Coonoor.Adjacent to the main bungalow is “Crossways Cottage”. It is a fully independent cottage with it’s own separate lawn, within the same compound as the main bungalow. Coonoor is a charming hill station in The Nilgiris District of Tamil Nadu. It is about 20km from Ooty. Coonoor is at a height of 6000ft.” Crossways Cottage” is centrally located and yet away from the hustle and bustle of the main town. It is 1km from Sim’s park and Coonoor Club, 3km from Wellington Gymkhana Club. It is about 5km from the Railway station and the Bus stand.

“Crossways” is one of the few heritage bungalows left in Coonoor. It was built by an Englishman Col.Hunt. It changed hands and the new owners the Maharaja of Mysore’s sister’s family gave the bungalow it’s present name “Crossways”. It is at the end of Walker’s Hill Road & Porter’s Avenue and hence the bungalow got it’s name “Crossways”, which has remained unchanged till date. The present owners Rajpals converted the erstwhile secretary’s quarters into the Crossways Cottage.

Accommodation: “Crossways Cottage” has 2 independent bedrooms with attached bathrooms. A child ensuite leads to one of the bedrooms. There is a sitting room, dining room, kitchen and an enclosed verandah. The cottage could be rented out as a whole or each room separately. Kitchen is equipped with toaster, microwave, kettle and basic utensils.
