Suggest is a unique verb in English and unlike other verbs you can not use it with infinitive.

For example- I suggest you to do this work. ( This sentence is wrong.)

Now, let us see how to use the word SUGGEST.
      Suggest + that clause
Examples- My father suggested that I get a job immediately.
His father suggests that he study harder so that he can
get into a good university. ( Mark- ‘he study’ instead
he studies. It is because of subjunctive mood .)
I suggest you go to the doctor.( here ‘that’ is hidden).
Remember, if you want to use Negative then you should say- I suggest you not go to the doctor.
Remember- You suggest that someone do something.
      Suggest + Gerund
If you want to use verb then use gerund word after suggest.
Examples- I suggest eating less and exercising more. ( Here, if you want to use like YOU then you have to use that clause).
I suggest not lazing around and concentrating on
      study.
      Suggest + Noun
Examples- I can suggest some interesting topic.
So remember, don’t use infinitive after ‘suggest’.
